Pre-Licensing Course:
The Broker Pre-licensing course prepares you for a new career in the real estate business and grooms you for the Indiana Real Estate Broker’s Examination. The lesson curriculum includes practical application exercises and activities that make the information enjoyable and memorable. Guest speakers will also join the class periodically to share their personal experiences from various facets of the industry.
Instruction includes basic real estate principles and practices, including real estate law, financing, brokerage, closing, valuation, management taxation and mathematics. Also included is instruction in construction, land use, property insurance, the Indiana Real Estate License Statute and the rules of the Indiana Real Estate Commission.

Class Location:
All classes are held at a convenient location in a comfortable setting at the SIRA office; 20 Lakeview Drive, Clarksville, Indiana 47129
To obtain an Indiana license, you must:
- Be 18 years of age before applying for a license
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be without a conviction of
- An act that would constitute a ground for disciplinary action
- A crime that has direct bearing on an individual’s ability to practice competently
- A crime that indicates the individual has the propensity to endanger the public
- Successfully complete an approved 90-hour Broker pre-license course which consists of 26 classes, with three exams and 100 questions. A total of 225 points from the three exams is required to pass the course.
- Attend 80% of the required classroom hours
- Pass a written exam prepared and administered by the State of Indiana’s exam provider, PSI. You can register at https://test-takers.psiexams.com/inre
- Complete the state licensing exam within one year of the date on your course completion certificate
Apply for licensure to the Indiana Real Estate Commission (IREC) within one year of the date of passing both parts of the examination. There is a $60 application fee. https://www.in.gov/pla/2788.htm.

Additional Requirements
30-hour Post-licensing Education
Once you have your broker’s license, you will have two years from the date your license is issued to complete 30 hours of post-licensing education. Depending on the time you start the three-year renewal period, you may or may not have to complete more continuing education requirements.

Continuing Education (CE)
All real estate brokers will have a three-year renewal period from July 1 through June 30 and must complete 12 hours of CE each year. The current period is July 1, 2023- June 30, 2026. The last year of the renewal brokers will pay a $60 fee to reinstate their license.

Refund Policy
No refunds are available once you are registered for a class.
Repeat Policy
If you do not pass the course, there will be a $350.00 fee to attend another class. The course must be repeated within a year of the starting date of the original course.
Weather Policy
- Any class that is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions will be postponed for a later date.
- Class status is available on the SIRA School of Real Estate home page. Any cancellations will be posted there if needed.
- If a class is cancelled, you will also be notified via email or text message.
Participants Requirement
There is a minimum requirement of 10 participants to hold a broker pre-licensing session. If we do not have 10 participants, we will reschedule the session for a later date.
